There’s no better way to get over an ex than to get fit and healthy. And former Block winner Steve O’Donnell did just that, dropping five-kilograms after splitting with his long-term girlfriend and Block co-star Chantelle Ford in June.
Now in the best shape of his life, the 36-year-old chimney sweep, who has a newly acquired six-pack and rippling biceps, took control of his body, after bingeing on beer and fast food took their toll.
“I thought I needed a bit of a gear up,” Steve reveals of his weight loss, which saw him go from 87kg to 82kg. “If you feel good and you’re physically fit, it will impact on pretty much every other aspect of your life.”
Committing to working out five days a week for 12 weeks on the gruelling “F45”, which mixes high-intensity interval and functional training, Steve says, “When I started, I told my trainer I wanted to get in the best shape of my life.”
Now that hard graft – not unlike his time on The Block – has paid off, and not just for his pecs. “I have a lot more energy, I sleep much better as well, your mental clarity is better…”
While he says he’s not looking, we’re guessing love might just find him!
