A man has been rushed to hospital after he injured his penis during a tantric sex experience that went incredibly wrong.
According to reports, the 59-year-old Vietnamese man was engaging in some steamy romance with his girlfriend at home in Ho Chi Minh City when their enthusiastic love-making was interrupted by a loud crack followed by a sickening surge of pain.
Shortly after being taken to hospital the man’s throbbing member had gone blue from bruising and his doctor Dr Mai Ba Tien Dung from Binh Dan Hospital reportedly told newspaper Tuoi Tre that the unidentified patient had “certainly broken [his penis] at the joint.”
It is believed the man suffered from penile contrusion or ‘penile fracture’, whereby an erect penis comes into contact with some kind of blunt force and one or both of the tunica albuginea – the two big tubes in a penis causing pressure for it to grow and become erect – experience trauma or rupture.
Dr Dung said that without surgical care patients who suffer from this kind of penis injury “can suffer from a deformed and curved penis and erectile dysfunction.”
The doctor also added that the instance of a broken penis is rare, “occurring only once out of a thousand cases of broken penises recorded in medical literature.”
The man is believed to be back on the mend and there is no word on what exact position he was trying or how long it will take him to heal.
While the case might be rare, his broken penis isn’t the first to make headlines. Another man in Ireland also suffered a penile fracture during a vigorous sex romp with his partner.
Alan Parke said that the injury to his nether-regions made him scream out in pain when it happened and he had a slow recovery.
Mr Parke told The Mirror he had to call an ambulance seven times in the first two weeks because “I couldn’t control the bleeding.”
“I was off work for eight weeks, in bed the whole time,” said Mr Parkes, who was turned away from his local Letterkenny General Hospital to Galway because they had no idea of how to treat anyone with that type of injury.
The Irishman said it wasn’t until the three month mark he felt his damaged privates were getting more manageable.
Outlandish basketball player Dennis Rodman also claims to have snapped his penis during sex on three separate occasions.
The former Chicago Bulls star told Vice a girlfriend once thought she’d killed him after a bold sex move went wrong.
Rodman said he heard a crunching sound followed by blood and dizzying pain.
“She was screaming and screaming ‘Oh my god he’s dead he’s dead, I killed him oh my God’”, says Rodman. “I said ‘no honey, I broke my d–k’.”
