Former Bachelorette star Sasha Mielczarek has kept a relatively low profile since his split from Sam Frost back in December 2016.

However, now the construction worker has opened up about the heartbreaking toll their break-up actually took on him.

In a new interview, Sasha reveals that he’s been struggling with mental health issues for the past six months and found it difficult to ask for help.

“I’m a blokey-bloke… I suffered in silence and didn’t talk about it,” he told News.com.au.

“It’s difficult to get your mind out of that funk.”

The former reality star was able to overcome his struggles with the help of a strong support network from friends and family, namely his mum Kym Ingles.

“I’m lucky my mum was very close to me then and we’d talk it through. But it took me a while to open up to other men as well, like my friends,” he continued.

While Sasha is in a better place now, he revealed that he’s choosing to focus on himself rather than trying to find a new relationship.

“I haven’t even begun the process of looking to date again — I’m just concentrating on family and friends now,” Sasha said.

“I think I’ll meet a girl at the pub just like any other normal guy.”

Just let us know which pub and we’ll be there, Sash!

Meanwhile, Sasha’s ex Sam has also come up against her own mental health issues, revealing in April that her split from Sasha and the criticism she received led her to see a psychologist.

“I reached breaking point last year,” she told The Herald Sun

“I was like, ‘Oh my goodness! I am really, really struggling with my mental health.’ The trolls and the criticism were relentless.”

“I just thought I am a good person, I am a wonderful friend, I am a wonderful sister and I work hard and I am grounded, I don’t understand why people are being so horrible to me.”
