The 40-year-old, who was crowned king of the jungle earlier this month, started his weight loss journey during his brief stint on Dancing With The Stars last year, and lost even more weight after spending 31 days in the South African jungle on I’m A Celeb.

Now, the Spaniard has shown off his brand new rig in a shirtless Instagram selfie, and vowed to commit even further to his fitness goals.

“From 118kg to just under 100kg … wot [sic] a journey,” he wrote to his 167,000 followers on Monday.

“Set your goals and focus in reaching one bit at the time, prioritise wot [sic] is really important and be yourself and no one else. Make sure you look after your mind as much as your body.”

And just a few days ago, Miguel posted another selfie on Instagram, this time showing he was back at work in the gym, trying to build more muscle.

“Back into chop chop mode …. I’m feeling heaps lighter but I lost all my strength as I lost most of my muscle in the jungle,” Miguel wrote.

“I guess is start rebuilding with a smile on my face. The king of the jungle is becaming a gladiator.”

At the end of 2019, Miguel revealed he had lost 15kg over the year, and posted a before-and-after transformation photo to show his followers how far he has come.

“15kg difference hahaha I promise myself that when I turned 40 I wanted to leave behind a few kg and one image speaks more than a million words.”

Back in May, Miguel credited his body transformation to his new balanced new diet.

“It is amazing how a little of chop chop every day and a delicious Mediterranean diet can make the big chunky crazy bull slowly turn into an Australian gladiator,” he joked.

“[It’s] not easy as some days I have very little motivation, but I just take my mind there and the body follows.”

Earlier this month, the charismatic Spaniard revealed he lost 10kg in the 31 days he was in the jungle on I’m A Celeb, thanks to the show’s brutal rationed diet.

After a month without proper food, he was thrilled to chow down on a delicious indulgent meal.

“My first meal [after leaving the jungle was carbonara fettucine with truffle and lots of cheese on top. It was heaven. I swallowed that whole bowl of pasta in about 30 seconds,” he joked to Now To Love just hours after being crowned the show’s winner.

And after a month off the booze, he was definitely keen to celebrate his win with a cocktail.

“It’s been a long wait without a drink. I’ve already had four margaritas, they tasted so good,” he said.

And almost exactly a year ago, Miguel starred as one of the celebrity contestants on Dancing With The Stars, and despite being the first contestant eliminated, Miguel managed to lose a huge amount of weight in a short space of time.

“I was 117kg and now I’m 106kg, so [I lost] 11kg. It’s unbelievable. I just look like a different person!” Miguel told Now To Love after his elimination.

“The physicality was my biggest challenge. I was really unfit and to do this, full credit to my partner Meghan. She was very focused on fitness, making sure my legs and arms were strong,” he said.

But during those intense training sessions, the Spanish-born chef realised what his body was truly capable of.

“It was an amazing thing to do, training for eight weeks just for one minute of dancing on the night. What a commitment and what an insight into the life of a dancer.”

Good on you Miguel!
