She may not have found everlasting love with Mikey Pembroke, but Natasha Spencer is having the last laugh after losing an incredible 10kg since Married At First Sight wrapped.
Go, girl!
Speaking exclusively on set of NW’s photo shoot, the Sydneysider gets candid about her struggle with weight gain post-filming and spills her exercise and diet tips she used to drop the kilos and remain trim!
When did you start feeling unhealthy?
I stacked on weight after filming of the show due to feeling anxious and depressed. I put on about five kilos and now I’m down seven kilos with three more to go.
After the show I found it really hard to hit the gym, I wasn’t enjoying working out like I used to which is a huge marker of depression. I put on weight because of lack of movement and found comfort in stuffing my face.
In high school I was bullied so badly for my weight. I weight 79 kilos. I was called fat a lot.
What type of exercises did/do you do to keep slim and healthy?
I get up every morning and do cardio, an hour walk. I do weights six times a week.
I will squat about 40 kilos and I’ll do that for 15 reps, it’s a high intensity weight workout.

What does a day on a plate look like for you?
I try to maintain intermittent fasting and don’t eat until 12pm. I follow a strict diet to five meals a day, in the morning I have protein oats with blueberries, and then my next meal is celery and hummus or rice cakes and peanut butter, then lunch is fish, chicken or red meat and a side of a carb like sweet potato and lots of greens like asparagus. Meal four is a celery juice with ginger and then dinner is at 7pm which is usually fish and greens.
What time do you allow yourself to eat?
I only eat between 12pm-7pm and fast from 7pm to 12pm the next day.
When you’re stressed your body holds onto weight, so I just have a better relationship with food now and I enjoy working out now, which has ultimately helped me shed those kilos.
