He’s struggled with his weight for years on end, but it seems John Goodman is finally on top of his health – and he’s looking better than ever.
The Roseanne actor wowed crowds at last night’s premiere of Trumbo by showing off his new – dramatically slimmer – figure.
The 63-year-old actor was dressed in a sharp pin-stripe suit with a polka dot tie and looked very much in place beside his handsome co-stars, Bryan Cranston and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
John, who revealed to David Letterman in 2011 that he was “pushing 400lb (181kg)” at one point, has shed an impressive amount of kilos since his last public appearance in 2014.
“I’d get off Roseanne every Spring,” John told David in 2011, “I’d lose 60 pounds every Spring, but I’d get too fond of the barleycorn and I’d start missing it too much.”
“And that would just screw everything up and I’d gain it all back – and then some, for years,” John said.
“It’s going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life,” he explained about his future weight goals.
The actor showed of his signature humour, cheekily joking to David that his goal weight was set around 30 pounds, or 17 kilos!
“30 European pounds – three stone,” John laughed, “No, I’m going to base it off the fat content of my body. Whatever’s healthy. I’m not going to go nuts.”
“I’m not going to look like Paris Hilton, or anything like that,” John mused.
We couldn’t be more impressed by John’s health efforts!
