She’s back! Jessica Simpson has officially reached her pre-pregnancy weight, just six months after giving birth to her second child, Ace Knute Johnson.
The 33-year-old signed a $AU4.5 million deal with weight loss company Weight Watchers following her first pregnancy in 2012, and jumped straight back on it after her second pregnancy as soon as the doctor gave her the all-clear.
“I saw the results really quickly,” she told USA Today.
The singer, who says she has worked incredibly hard to get her body back, is now preparing for her wedding to fiance Eric Johnson.
“I’ve been pulling all kinds of sketches for dresses and colours,” she says. “It’s a good goal for me. It’s good for me to feel the best I’ve ever felt when I walk down the aisle.”
Despite her jam-packed schedule, Jess says she makes sure she “sticks with the right recipes” and has learned how to fit exercise into her busy routine.
“With both kids, I’m running up and down my stairs a million times. Kids can keep your metabolism going.”
She’s also working out with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak four days a week for 45 minutes.
“I try to walk about four miles [6km] a day consistently. It makes me feel better… Working out and being active overall makes me a happier person to be around.”
Although she has seen results, Jess says she’s under no illusions about what people think of her.
“It does get old having people harping on about how much you weigh, or your body after pregnancy,” she confesses.
“I need to feel comfortable in my own skin. People are going to pick me apart no matter what I do.”
But she says it’s all worth it to be the best role model she can be for her 18-month-old daughter, Maxwell Drew, and Ace.
“[My goal] is to be the best version of myself and to feel great. I want to be a great mum and a great example to my kids.”
