Kim says of taking the pills: "I thought, 'Why not try it? What do I have to lose?'"

The new mother-of-two revealed on her subscription-only website she’s having her placenta frozen and transformed into pills for consumption.

“So, I’m really not this holistic person or someone who would have ever considered eating my placenta,” Kim insisted.

“I actually thought Kourtney would have soooo done this, but I don’t think she did,” the wife of Kanye West added.

However the 35-year-old, who welcomed son Saint West on December 5, claimed after researching the benefits of eating your own placenta during her first pregnancy in 2013 she was sold.

“I heard so many stories when I was pregnant with North of mums who never ate their placenta with their first baby and then had post-partum depression, but then when they took the pills with their second baby, they did not suffer from depression! So I thought, why not try it? What do I have to lose?”

“I really didn’t want the baby blues and thought I can’t go wrong with taking a pill made of my own hormones – made by me, for me. I started researching and read about so many mums who felt this same way and said the overall healing process was so much easier.”

At present, there is no medical evidence that suggests eating placenta prevents post-natal depression.

While Kim hasn’t stepped out publicly since welcoming Saint, she has again taken to her website to discuss her post-baby body with Caitlyn Jenner.

“I started off at 130. I gained 60lbs.That’s 190lbs (86 kilos). One… nine.. zero… I almost died,” she explained to Caitlyn during a live stream as they made pizza.

Placenta powers? Kim believes the pills can help combat post-natal depression.

Kim stayed out of shot from the camera lens as she lamented her 27-kilogram weight gain, before revealing she’d already lost eight-kilos of the baby weight.

She must have been in a nostalgic mood as she later took to Instagram to share a slew of shots from her infamous 2007 Playboy cover shoot.
