British singer Geri Halliwell shared the exciting news via Instagram, revealing she and her husband, F1 boss Christian Horner, were the proud new parents of a son.
“Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia #amazing-day #grateful #monty,” Geri mused alongside a beautiful black and white shot of her newborn’s tiny foot being cradled by her.
In a touching tribute, Geri made her sure late friend George Michael was remembered by naming her son after him.
Geri and George, who passed away on Christmas Day last year, were extremely close and the Freedom hitmaker was the godfather to Geri’s daughter, Bluebell Madonna, ten.
“Geri wanted George to be a part of Monty’s life, so she felt it only fitting that her newborn have a middle name after the star,” a source explained to The Sun.
The Look At Me singer also took to Twitter to reveal some more sweet details: “Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz,” the proud mum mused.
Montague is Geri’s first child with 43-year-old Christian and will join loving siblings Olivia, three, from Christian’s previous relationship with Beverley Allen, and Bluebell, who Geri shares with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.
Clearly elated with their newest addition, the family celebrated Monty’s arrival with some birthday cake.
“Time for some birthday cake! Thank you for all your lovely messages x,” Geri penned next to a shot of delicious cupcakes with her family’s names on them.
The singer formerly known as Ginger Spice announced her pregnancy back in October with an adorable hand-drawn note portrait of herself pregnant.
The message read: “God bless Mother Nature #mamaspice.”
After going public with their romance in March 2014, Geri and Christian announced their engagement in November, 2014, before tying the knot in May the following year.
