How far would you go to fit into your old skinny jeans?
While there are myriad scientifically backed
and healthy ways to lose weight (if that is, indeed, what you want to do) these celebrities are turning to alternate methods, some of which have left us scratching our heads.
From sniffing oil to getting down and dirty in the bedroom, it would seem these A-listers will try just about anything!
Well, except Cher, that is… Her trick for keeping as trim and toned as she was in that leather-jacket-and-leotard combo from way back in 1989 is something you can do at home and will cost you ZILCH.

Cher
Cher looks just as fit and she did almost 30 years ago when her big hair and fashion choices first hit ICONIC status. This 71-year-old’s secret? PLANKING. She tightens her core for at least five (impressive!) minutes a day. Speaking to PEOPLE, the popstar said: ““I started out with 30 seconds, and I thought I was gonna die. Now I do three to five minutes.”
Kim Kardashian has landed herself in hot water after Tweeting (and then deleting) a kontroversial red carpet weight-loss hack. “The flu can be an amazing diet,” the 36-year-old said. “So happy it came in time for the Met lol,” she continued, adding that as a result she’s lost 2.7kgs.
Angelia Jolie
On the promotional tour of her latest film First They Killed My Father, Angelina Jolie showed off her passion for Cambodian cuisine by hosting a DIY cooking class featuring the protein-rich local creepy crawlies. While we don’t think she snacks on bugs on a regular basis, they’re certainly a nutrient-rich alternative to other more commonly consumed meats. Watch the moment in the next slide!

Jennifer Lopez
We love essential oils as much as the next person, but we’d never thought about doing this. Apparently, Jennifer Lopez’s top tip for maintaining her toned physique and suppressing appetite involves taking whiffs from vials of grapefruit oil, which she allegedly believes affects liver enzymes and promotes weight loss.
Rumour has it former Victoria’s Secret supermodel Heidi Klum soaks in a bath of Epsom salts before a red carpet appearance or photoshoot. The naturally-occurring mineral is said to draw out toxins from the body and reduce bloating.
The Aussie model’s weight-loss hack is far less to do with the kitchen, and a lot more to do with the bedroom. “The more sex I have, the more defined my arms and stomach get,” she told GQ UK after her split from husband Orlando Bloom. “One thing I’ve noticed is now that I’m having less sex my body isn’t as toned.”
In advice that perhaps shouldn’t be taken on board – particularly by the model’s young and impressionable following – Kendall Jenner recently revealed that she chose to paint her walls pink in a bid to stop snacking. “[It’s] the only colour scientifically proven to calm you AND suppress your appetite. I was like, ‘I NEED this colour in my house!’”
Forgive us for taking this one with a grain of salt, but legend has it that the oh-so-handsome Matthew McConaughey carries a toothbrush in his pockets to restaurants, all so he can clean his teeth the very moment a meal concludes. Why? Nutritionists say the minty fresh feeling helps signify fullness to the brain.
As per a tip from her hairstylist, actress Liv Tyler admits to switching her shower to cold in the last few minutes. Why? Apparently, the sudden temperature change “closes the hair cuticle…and I always feel like it makes you a little bit skinnier.”
