Oprah Winfrey rarely shies away from discussing weight loss, but at a recent event, the superstar TV host let the photos do most of the talking. Previously, Oprah had credited Weight Watchers with helping her lose 18 kilograms, and the most recent snapshots prove the age-old saying that a photo is worth a thousand words.

Oprah posed in photos at a weekend celebration for her new book The Wisdom of Sundays, and the 63-year-old looks absolutely stunning. It seems like after years of yo-yo dieting and struggles with weight gain and weight loss, her hard work has finally paid off.

Wearing a dusty-pink pleated skirt and cashmere top, the popular TV host looked happy and trim while celebrating her new book, The Wisdom of Sundays.

Oprah has never been afraid to discuss her weight battles publicly.

As any Oprah fan knows, the mogul’s weight has fluctuated quite a bit throughout the years. She bravely revealed in a 2009 issue of her magazine that she hit her heaviest weight back in 1992 — 108 kilograms. By this point, she was deep into what she previously called the “cycle of discontent” with her weight, which originally began shortly after visiting her first diet doctor at the ripe age of 23 in 1977. However, in 2005, she had managed to reach a toned and trim 73 kilograms, which she was happy to show off in photos.

Oprah revealed she was her heaviest in 1992, weighing 108 kilograms.

By 2009, she had reached 90 kilograms again, thanks to a thyroid problem combined with a crazy busy schedule. But she said she realised her real problem wasn’t her weight problem, it was a self-care problem instead, which manifested itself through her weight.

She said, “My goal isn’t to be thin. My goal is for my body to be the weight it can hold — to be strong and healthy and fit, to be itself. My goal is to learn to embrace this body and to be grateful every day for what it has given me.”

Now, in 2017, it seems like this icon has made her goals of putting her powerful and poignant words into action. Go her!
