Johnny Ruffo’s manager has opened up about his “scary and frightening” brain cancer diagnosis.
On Thursday, the former Home And Away star shared the gut wrenching news that he had been diagnosed with brain cancer.
“So I have the news,” he wrote on Instagram. “It was a bit of a shock and I’ve got an interesting journey ahead and a bit of a battle. I am starting aggressive treatment for the next few months to fight the diagnosis of brain cancer.”
He added: “Please stay positive for me and I’ll try to update you guys on my progress.”
Speaking to YahooBe, his manager Claire McLennan said he is with his mother and his girlfriend, Tahnee Sims, as he prepares to begin treatment.
“Johnny’s with his family at the moment,” she said. “He’s gotten so much support from everyone and it’s just been lovely – there are still good people in this world.”
She added: “It’s scary and frightening this one. Especially for anyone going through this.”
Claire also said the actor is trying to “keep positive” in what she’s described as an “awful situation.”
