We always knew Angelina Jolie was a boss but this latest video further proves sheโ€™s a real-life Lara Croft.

As she promotes her latest film First They Killed My Father, which she directed, the actress has made a triumphant return to the spotlight.

Speaking with BBC News World, Angie showed off her passion for Cambodian cuisine by hosting a DIY cooking class featuring the protein-rich local creepy crawlies.

With the help of her kids, the 41-year-old cooked up a storm as she guided BBC reporter Yalda Hakim through the delicacies.

โ€œI think itโ€™s always been a part of the [Cambodian] diet, the bugs, but then I think there is a truth to the survival during the war.โ€

โ€œOf course when people are being starved they were able to survive on things like this and they did,โ€ the mother-of-six explained as she prepped a spider and reminded her kids to โ€œpull the fangs out,โ€ the actress revealed.

โ€œI first had them [the bugs] when I was first in country. You start with crickets. Crickets and a beer and then you kind of move up to tarantulas,โ€ Angie laughed.

At one point, a hesitant Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, eight, looks on at her mum who reassures her to โ€œgo aheadโ€ and cook her bug stir-fry.

โ€œDinner!โ€ Angie calls out to her kids, before asking them: โ€œYou want to share a spider?โ€

Tucking into her meal, the director muses: โ€œItโ€™s actually really good the flavour. Itโ€™s hard to chew the scorpion.โ€

This latest upbeat video comes off the back of the humanitarian finally addressing her split with Brad Pitt.

On the topic of Brad and the children, BBC journalist Yalda asked, โ€œYour film is about family and loss. I understand this is a very sensitive issue.โ€ She continued, โ€œWe know that an incident occurred which led to your separation. We also know you havenโ€™t said anything about this, but would you like to say something?โ€

An emotional Angelina responded, โ€œOnly thatโ€ฆ I donโ€™t want to say very much about [the incident] except to say that it was a very difficult time, and we are a family. And weโ€™ll always be a family. And weโ€™ll get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it.โ€

โ€œBut can I ask how youโ€™re coping?โ€ Yalda pressed.

โ€œMany people find themselves in this situation,โ€ Angelina said. โ€œMy whole family, weโ€™ve all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children โ€” our children โ€” and my focus is finding this way through. As I said, we are and forever will be a family. So that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure this somehow makes us stronger and closer.โ€
