Ada Nicodemou always ate healthily and exercised regularly, but when she turned 41, she decided it was time to put herself โ€œfirst for a little bitโ€ and update her wellness approach.

โ€œI was feeling tired, lethargic, and not very motivated,โ€ the Home and Away star told WHO Magazine in 2018.

To combat her rut, she signed up to Sydney trainer Lia Jonesโ€™ two-month challenge, Fit Me Jones, with her partner Adam Rigby, and they both took up the 80/20 diet rule loved by the likes of Miranda Kerr.

Ada loves to workout every morning.

โ€œIโ€™ll stick to this way of eating, but itโ€™ll be 80/20 โ€“ 80 per cent sticking to it and 20 per cent relaxing it a bit. Life is to be enjoyed,โ€ she told the publication.

Since Ada and her partner took on the challenge, the brunette beauty has kept up with a strict morning workout routine, which includes a rotating schedule of Pilates, walks, personal training sessions, and weights.

The Home and Away actor walked her fans through her morning routine during an interview with New Idea.

โ€œEach morning I start my day with either a shot of apple cider vinegar or hot water with lemon depending on the seasons,โ€ she said. โ€œAt the moment, itโ€™s hot lemon water. Next, I take a collagen supplement.โ€

Ada and her partner revived their workout routine together.

Mornings are also when Ada gets moving.

โ€œIt is hard, but I exercise every morning. Itโ€™s a non-negotiable for me. I either go to the gym, go for a walk or do a PT session. I feel so much better when I do,โ€ she explained.

While chatting to Now To Love during her stint on Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars, Ada shared more insights into how she maintains her figure.

โ€œI try and work out about four times a week. So realistically, two of those days will be early morning training sessions where I just do weights,โ€ she said.

โ€œI love to walk outside. Even at lunchtime at work, I go for a big walk.โ€

โ€œI love to walk outside. Even at lunchtime at work, I go for a big walk. If I donโ€™t have a lot of time, Iโ€™ll do a 20-minute run, plus weight training.โ€

Of course, the physical benefits of exercise are great, but for Ada, keeping up with her routine is also about maintaining a healthy mindset.

โ€œExercise is really good for me, it means I can get through the long hours at work and itโ€™s just great for my mental health. I feel good when Iโ€™m exercising!โ€ she admited.
