Poor Jimmy’s opening monologue didn’t get off to the best start with his teleprompter failing to work.

Ever the pro, the charming funnyman took it in his stride and joked that he was being sabotaged just like Mariah Carey.

“I just talked to Mariah Carey, and she thinks Dick Clark Productions sabotaged my monologue,” Jimmy quipped, in reference to her catastrophic NYE performance which she claimed was sabotaged.

Wasting no time to get to the pointy even of business, awards are already being handed out with Billy Bob Thornton winning the Golden Globe for best actor in a TV drama for Goliath.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Ryan Gosling dedicated his Best Actor win for La La Land to his partner Eva Mendes late brother Carlos, who lost his battle with cancer last year.

“I’d like to dedicate to his memory,” a teary Ryan announced as he proudly held up his award.

His co-star Emma Stone also saw success for La La Land, scooping up the Best Actress award. “[Thank you] Ryan for being the best partner a girl could ask for,” Emma beamed as she took to the stage to accept her gong.

La La Land managed to break the Golden Globes record books with seven wins all up.

Boom! Brad Pitt looked better than ever as he took to the stage to present Moonlight, which his production company, Plan B, helped create.
