Amongst the long list of things 2020 has ruined for us, and it is the longest of lists, is red carpets.
Some events, too early in the chaos of COVID lockdowns were sadly foregone all together (RIP TV WEEK 2020 Logie Awards) while others like the ARIA Awards, have managed to go ahead.
While the show may go on for the ARIAs, albeit looking very different thanks to pre-recorded performances and winners announced via Zoom, unfortunately the red carpet is no more.
It won’t stop our favourite stars however from rocking their best couch couture and getting glammed up in their living rooms.
While some celebs opted for fierce fashion-forward looks and tradition red carpet glamour, others embraced lockdown loungewear.
It may be too early in the night to call, but we’re going out on and limb and saying musician Graace is our best dressed from the event, with the perfect combo of evening gown, full face mask and the perfect matching accessory – a glass of wine.
We officially have new couch couture goals.
For now though, we’ll be staying in our slippers and scrolling through the best looks from the ARIAs virtual red carpet, below.
Wilkins
Christian Wilkins
Casual chic at its finest. We just love Richard working on his pre-red carpet tan in the background.
Brooke & Sophie
Brooke Boney & Sophie Monk
The Today Show presenter and former Bachelorette showed us all how to pull of the “year 10 formal” pose.
Kylie
Kylie Minogue
Would it be an ARIAs without an appearance from pop princess Kylie looking effortlessly stunning?
Delta
Delta Goodrem
The ARIAs host is absolutely dazzling in this glitzy gown.
Joel
Joel Creasey
This Kenzo boiler suit is wilder than Joel’s stint in the I’m A Celeb jungle.
Ash
Ash London
The slick leather midi, the equally sleek pony, the pop of colour with a pointed pump, the matching lip colour – we love it all. But mostly we love Ash’s cheeky, sassy grin.
Christine
Christine Anu
Move aside everyone, Christine just stole the show.
Guy
Guy Sebastian
The beloved singer and The Voice coach is serving us serious ‘tude.
Emma
Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins
This may be the only time we see adorable furry creatures on the red carpet, so we’re absolutely savouring it in all its cuteness.
Tones
Tones and I
If only Tones and I could have rolled into the real red carpet like this.
DJ Havana
DJ Havana Brown
Red hot with the red carpet to match, DJ Havana seized the opportunity to get glammed up – and she looks incredible.
Graace
Graace
The talented Aussie musician is everything we aspire to be in this killer photo.
Jess Mauboy
Jessica Mauboy
It’s all about the lighting… and the wine!
Kate C
Kate Ceberano
Comfort is key, so we’ll be following Kate’s lead.
Isaiah
Isaiah Firebrace
We love the half-dressed up but also didn’t want to get out of my fluffy robe vibe. It’s basically us every morning.
Delta2
Delta Goodrem
We couldn’t not include a close up of Delta’s stunning gown.
Jess
Jessica Mauboy
While we think the choice to ditch the glass of wine is a regrettable one, Jess turned up to the official red carpet looking fierce in ruffled leopard print.
Tegan
Tegan Martin
Tegan, if you’re reading this, please let us know where this AMAZING fringe bustier is from, we need to get our hands on one.
Richard
Christina Wilkins, Richard Wilkins & Nicola Dale
The Wilkins made the transition from pool-side to red carpet seamlessly.
Emma2
Emma Watkins
While we’re slightly disappointed the goats didn’t make it to the official event, Emma does look absolutely radiant.
Guy2
Guy Sebastian
Guy changes into something a little more sleek to claim his ARIA win for Best Video.
