If you’re anything like us, you’ll likely find the following news both a delight, and a distress.
Indeed Rafael Nadal, AKA 19-time grand slam winner, world number two in tennis and certified heartthrob is officially off the market, and we’re both over the moon for him and his stunning new wife Mery Perello, and also just a tenny tiny tad-bit heartbroken… just a little.
But our own heartbreak aside, you can’t deny how adorable this couple are.
In October, the pair married in a gorgeous ceremony in stunning Majorcan venue La Fortaleza, situated in thier home country of Spain.
The pair had plenty to celebrate after dating for more than 13 years, and it seems they pulled in the masses to help them do it.
Leading the star studded-pack at the wedding were some of Nadal’s famous sporting pals, including Feliciano Lopez, David Ferrer and Juan Monaco.
But tennis legends aside, there was something else that’s completely sapped up our attention – Mery’s stunning wedding dress.
Talented wedding dress designer Rosa Clará was behind the creation of the coveted dress, which featured a gorgeous embroided bodice with sheer long sleeves, a high crew neck and a clinched waist, with the flowing white skirt falling to the floor.
Taking to Instagram, the designer shared some insight behind the stunning gown’s creation with a video.
Describing it as an “exquisitely clean-lined haute couture design”, she wrote: “The bodice, with jewel neckline and long sleeves, was made of beautiful Art Deco-inspired French lace with delicate patterning, flower motifs and microbeading on the meticulously hand-embroidered fabric.”
She added: “The ballgown-style skirt, made of silk crepe, featured a weightless detachable train, created in Rosa Clara’s Atelier.”

The designer said the process to create the stunning dress had been “full of emotions”.
“We just want to thank the whole family for trusting in us, you’re extraordinary.”
The designer also shared some professional snaps of the pair from their big day, writing: “We barely have words to describe such a charming and fascinating couple.”
Looking smitten next to his new wife, king of clay Rafa looked rather dashing in the new pictures wearing a smart grey-three piece suit.
Rosa added of the bride: “Mery, you looked incredibly elegant and delightful, a unique bride!”
The wedding itself wasn’t short on big names outside of the tennis realm too.
Among the guest list was also King Juan Carlos I of Spain, who arrived via a private car, according to The Sun.
Spanish actress Carolina Cerezuela also attended the nuptials.
Taking to his own Instagram account, which boasts no less than 8 million followers, Rafa shared a sneak peek of the lavish venue of the wedding.
Featuring the picturesque Pollensa Bay, near where the nuptials are believed to have taken place, one can only imagine the absolute scenes the day provided.
So with that being said, we are thrilled for the brand new husband and wife, and we’ll definitely get over the fact that Nadal is officially off the market… at some point in time.
But in all seriousness, congratulations guys!
