Duchess Meghan is our ultimate style icon, with her impressive array of staple shirts, jeans and many, many shirt dresses.
And her latest appearance (which was a complete, serendipitous surprise, might we add) has given us yet another dose of her timeless, classic style.
In a surprise appearance at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Virtual Summit on Tuesday, Meghan appeared via a video link from her new Santa Barbara mansion, where she spoke about the importance of “humane tech”.
Explaining the need for honest, reliable outlets for people to consume data and media from, she told viewers: “We have got to all put our stock in something that is true, and we need to have reliable media and news sources that are telling us the truth…when you know something is wrong, report it, talk about it.”
Perhaps most pertinently, Meghan addressed the frequent misconceptions stemming from stories that have “spiralled out of control” – something that she’s very familiar with.
“If you look back at anything I’ve said, what ends up being inflammatory is people’s interpretation of it,” she told Fortune‘s Senior Editor, Ellen McGirt.
“But if you listen to what I actually say, it’s not controversial.”
She also opened up about Facebook’s regulations, which are set to change the way news media is presented to its users.
“If the changes that are being made are in fact made, it’s for the good of everyone, Facebook included. We can’t have this slap on the wrist.”
Meghan’s words certainly struck a chord with viewers and beyond, especially given her own experience with the media, a lot of which has been drenched in controversy and invasion of her space.
But ever strong, Meghan appeared powerful and confident as she spoke, a feat highlighted by her impeccable choice in clothes.
Indeed, you might recognise a certain iconic shirt she chose to wear for the online engagement – those blue stripes have certainly been seen on the stylish royal before.
Yep, how could we forget her 2018 Wimbledon appearance, one of her first with Duchess Catherine following her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
At the event, Meghan wore a stripy shirt with a pair of white flowing pants by Ralph Lauren.
While it’s not yet known if Meghan’s shirt worn for her virtual appearance is the exact same as the iconic Ralph Lauren one, they sure do look similar.
And it proves that a classic white stripy button down will never go amiss in your wardrobe.
And with that, we’ll gladly seek out our own for the spring and summer ahead…
