As if we needed any more reasons to go shopping, a certain royal has just given us all the justification we need for a retail splurge.
Duchess Meghan, whose enviable wardrobe would total an eye-watering sum, just stepped out in a dress that looks a million bucks.
It’s a common scene from the stylish royal – and most of the time her dresses are in the triple digit cost category.
But there’s something different about this one – and it’s got us running to the stores.
The pregnant Duchess of Sussex attended an engagement in London on Wednesday, January 16th wearing a gorgeous beige dress and overcoat.
To provide context, whenever the former Suits star steps out in a new outfit like this, fans and followers alike have flocked to find the designs online to lust after.
But you might be doing more than just lusting after this look – in fact, you’ll probably be hitting ‘add to cart’ before you can say Jimmy Choo.
The reason? Her fitted high neck knitted dress is from high street brand H&M, and it’s worth $39.00.
Yep, you read that right: Thirty. Nine. Dollars.
And while she did pair it with an Armani coat worth a cool $3,000, you can’t deny the dress also looked just as chic.
So where can you get your hands on one?
Well, unsurprisingly the exact style worn by Meghan has sold out.
BUT, that doesn’t mean you’ve missed out. H&M and other high street brands are renowned for bringing certain styles back into stock when they’ve sold out in the past.
And in any case, the same dress in another colour is still available on the website – you’d better be quick though!

What’s more, this isn’t the only time the down to earth Duchess has worn a high street design that won’t break the bank.

Meghan’s Marks & Spencer black dress
In November 2018, Duchess Meghan stepped out in a stunning black off-shoulder dress as she attended an event at the Royal Albert Hall.
The stunning design had us thinking it was another high end design worth thousands – but boy were we wrong.
The elegant off-shoulder dress was in fact from British high street store Marks & Spencer, and would only set you back $94.00.
It didn’t come as a surprise thereafter when the dress almost immediately sold out.
While there are plenty of lookalike styles on the market, we’ll still hang onto hope that there’s a restock just around the corner!
Meghan’s affordable accessories
Meghan is a well-known jewellery lover – in fact, you’d be hard pressed not to find an outfit of Meghan’s that didn’t include some bling.
And while some of her precious diamonds and gems are royal heirlooms that are basically priceless, there are some pieces she’s worn that are not only affordable – but can be at your door within 3-5 working days. Winning!
When Meghan stepped out in a festive berry red ensemble last November, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice a small golden ring on her middle finger which formed the word ‘love’.
To our (and plenty of royal fans) delight, the ring in question is surprisingly affordable, costing around $96.00.
Made by LA based designer Meredith Hahn, the accessory is titled the ‘Jamie Love Ring’ and can be shipped right to your doorstep.
And in more affordable accessory news, the royal also sent fans into frenzy over her ensemble at the British Fashion Awards in December.
Markle, wearing a stunning black Givenchy gown, teamed the look with with golden jewellery that was worth barely a fraction of her designer frock.
Made by jeweller Pippa Small, her stud earrings cost $87 while her bangles are priced from $200.
Meghan’s red polka dot dress
While on her royal tour of Australia in October 2018, Markle stepped out in Queensland in a summery red polka dot dress – and it was safe to say we were enamoured.
The design by affordable label, & Other Stories, which is branded under the H&M group, looked comfortable, chic and perfectly practical for us folk in warmer climates down under.
The dress was worth $163 – not bad for a style worthy of a royal!
The Meghan Effect came into play once again, with the dress selling out quickly. But lucky for us, polka dots are all the rage these days, and there are plenty of similar styles on the market that’ll have you looking Meghan-magnificent in no time – see our round up here.
