Kate Middleton sent eyeballs scurrying this week when she appeared in a surprise video call wearing a jumper we can only describe as working-from-home heaven.
The British royal has been keeping busy while remaining under lockdown in her Norfolk country home north of London, using her influential status to promote and support carers and workers who are currently on the frontline as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. ‘
But she’s also managed to inspire fashion-fanatics around the world at a simple glance – and that’s because even in isolation, our Queen of Chic Kate is a force to be reckoned with.
Appearing in a live video call with students from a Lancashire primary school, Casterton Primary Academy, the Duchess was joined by husband Prince William in a heartwarming chat, which was shared on Instagram via their official channel, Kensington Palace.
In the video, Kate naturally converses with children whose parents are currently working on the frontline to help those suffering the affects of the virus.
The children have continued to attend school as their parents go to work each day, with school teachers continuing to put in their best efforts to provide support at a time where things are uncertain and difficult.
For this reason, the Duke and Duchess paid tribute to their efforts, and showed support for the children and their parents by speaking to them about their experiences and how they are celebrating Easter.
The video in itself was heartwarming in all kinds of ways, serving as as an apt reminder of the difficulties faced by families at this time.
And of course, any glimpse of the Duchess at work is always a thrill – so it was entirely to be expected that another feat of the video couldn’t be ignored.
We are, of course, talking about that glorious orange top, which exuded Kate’s unmistakable effortless style and gave us all kinds of working-from-home inspiration.
And while many of her pieces are usually acquired via a royal-worthy budget that might be a stretch for us non-blue-blooded folk, this time around was a refreshingly different story.
The mum-of-three’s top was in fact from High Street label Zara, and costs a mere AUD $58.
As to be expected, the style is completely sold out online, but that’s not to say there aren’t plenty of similar styles available in Australia that you can get your hands on.
And as we continue to work from home, there’s never been a better time to invest in a chic, new comfy jumper that’s guaranteed to look great in your daily Zoom calls.
