Julie Bishop is no stranger to making a fashion statement, but her latest ensemble might just take the cake as her greatest yet.
Over the weekend, the former foreign minister of Australia walked the red carpet to attend the opening night of stage show Hamilton in her most glimmering outfit we’ve ever seen her wear – and we’ve seen her in some seriously glimmery looks over the years.
Sharing two snaps to Instagram, Julie, 64, looked radiant as she walked the red carpet into Sydney’s Lyric theatre alongside her partner David Panton.
The pair were later joined in another snap by New South Wales premiere Gladys Berejiklian, who was also dressed to the nines for the occasion.
But it was Julie’s dress that truly stole the show – the bright orange sequined frock was designed by Meraki Official, an Australian owned brand already well-established as a go-to for extra special formal wear.
In the caption, which she shared alongside her happy snaps from the night, Julie wrote: “We were all #InTheRoomWhereItHappened last night @hamiltonaustralia.”
Unsurprisingly, Julie was flooded with messages about her stunning orange look.
“Stunning! That dress is amaze,” wrote one fan.
Another aptly added: “Minister for FASHUUURRRNNN!”
We certainly can’t argue with that…
Premier Gladys also seemed to enjoy the evening’s festivities.
Sharing her own images to Instagram, she wrote: “Amazing to see Hamilton the Musical live on stage for the very first time and right here in Sydney. The only place in the world you can see this musical.”
Among the other notable guests on the red carpet were TV presenters Brooke Boney, Liz Hayes, Natalie Barr, Lisa Wilkinson and Jessica Rowe.
The Voice‘s Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian along with his stylist wife Jules Sebastian also made a glam appearance.
