The show follows the Walsh family who move from a small town in Minnesota to Beverly Hills due to a job transfer, and twins Brandon and Brenda get a huge culture shock when they start at their new school, West Beverly High. The siblings discover that the priorities of teenagers in California are vastly different to those back home.

A fun fact about the show is that many of the scenes set at West Beverly Hills High School were filmed at Torrance High School in California, and the school was also used as a backdrop for other iconic ’90s shows including Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
