Today’s Karl Stefanovic has already laid down his prediction for the top award.

“I think it’s time for Lisa Wilkinson to win a Gold Logie,” he told TV WEEK in an exclusive chat moments after the announcement.

So how does Lisa Wilkinson feel about a possible TV WEEK Gold Logie nomination?

“I would be extremely honoured, extremely flattered, and unbelievably surprised if it was to come about,” she tells TV WEEK.

“So many great women have won it in the past such as Asher Keddie, Georgie Parker, and Maggie Tabberer,” Lisa, 57, says.

No stranger to the TV WEEK Logies red carpet, Lisa interviews the stars on TV’s night of nights.

“It’s such a fabulous line-up. I am a huge fan of all of those women, so to be even mentioned in the same paragraph as them is honour enough.

Fellow co-star and Queensland native Sylvia Jeffreys, 31, also agrees with Karl that more women need to be in the running for the top award next year.

“There are so many amazing women across every category in every network and it’s time we saw more of them on stage collecting awards,” Sylvia tells TV WEEK.

As for the move in location, Sylvia is also excited about the move to her hometown.

“At the end of the Logies – when you need to clear the cobwebs – you’d much rather go for a dip at Coolangatta than in the Yarra River in Melbourne!” Sylvia says with a laugh.

Lisa, too, is excited about the move north to Queensland.

“There is one very big tick that the Gold Coast has which is beautiful warm weather,” she says.

“On a purely one-dimensional fashion front it’s definitely got a gold star next to it, when you don’t have to worry about it being too cold or raining.”
