Most single men would jump at the chance to have a line-up of beautiful women to choose a girlfriend from.
But it appears hit show The Bachelor could be in trouble, with rumours this year’s lucky bachelor Matty Johnson is struggling to find The One, or even get close.
Eagled-eyed fans of the show have noticed the production for this year’s series is running behind schedule compared to previous years.
The intruders – the women picked to shake things up in the mansion and compete for the Bachelor’s affections – have reportedly only just been introduced, and Ten is yet to announce a date for the reality program to hit TV screens.
Given that the timing is “way off”, bloggers on the show’s spoiler forums are concluding 29-year-old Matty simply hasn’t clicked with any of the girls.
Adding weight to the rumours is the fact that Matty – who failed to win over The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love last year – made the unusual move of taking a mid-season sabbatical in April, reportedly telling producers he was “unhappy” with the female contestants, who include personal trainer Elora Murger and jewellery designer Laura Byrne.
The group boxing date looked like one big yawn for Matty.
According to Ten, Matty’s wish list includes someone who is “kind, intelligent and easygoing”, and who “shares his passion for the outdoors and the ocean”.
And as one of five siblings, he’s on the hunt for someone who wants a family, too. “I’m so excited about the prospect of settling down.
“Timing is such a crucial factor when it comes to making this commitment and I know wholeheartedly that there’s nothing I want more,” he’s said.

But it looks like Matty’s dream of landing the perfect girl is still a long way off.
He was snapped looking less than impressed on a group boxing date in Sydney. At one point, he even struggled to hold back a yawn.
