The trouble with revivals is that often there’s a lot of explaining to do.

In the case of Will & Grace, during the original series finale, we got a glimpse 20 years into the future and shockingly, our favourite BFFs, were BFFs no more!

So, how will the writers work around that if the revival is set in 2017? Don’t panic honey, they’ve already sorted it all out.

Series creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan have told E! News that most of their time spent in “story camp” was spent nutting out a solution to the time-jump.

“I will tell you that almost more than anything, more time went into figuring out how are we going to reintroduce the show and what were the rules going to be and how were we going to address that finale,” Max admitted.

He also revealed the exact time and place of the setting.

“They are very much living in that apartment in 2017 in the month of September, on the 28th of September at 9.00,” he said.

“That’s when you’re going to meet up with them again and they are going to explain to you exactly what happened so you know the rules moving forward and you won’t feel like anything is left open.”

This is all very reassuring.

In case you haven’t marked it in your calendars already, Will & Grace will make its comeback on September 28.

While a time-jump issue may sound like a lot for the writers of Will & Grace to resolve, the Roseanne reboot, still has to come up with a way to bring John Goodman’s character Dan back from the dead.

But again, no need to panic on that front either. Roseanne Barr has already assured us that she’s got that plot line all sorted as well.
