We knew they were on to a winner when a Will & Grace revival was announced, and now it seems the producers knew it too.

What started as a ten minute webisode urging the American public to vote in the 2016 US election has now transformed into one of the greatest TV show comebacks of its age (Yes, thatโ€™s including the Gilmore Girls reboot).

Not only has it been renewed for a third season (or eleventh, if youโ€™re counting the original run), but both seasons two and three are expanding. Originally sitting at 13 episodes, NBC has now ordered an additional five, bringing the total to 18 episodes for each season.

With the final two episodes of the first season still yet to air, the confident renewal for a third only speaks of good things to come (read: more memorable Karen Walker quotes).

Get ready for a lot more Will (Eric McCormack), Grace (Debra Messing), Karen (Megan Mullally) and Jack (Sean Hayes)!

Its original eight-season run from 1998-2006 saw Will & Grace pick up a huge 16 Emmy Awards. And since its return, the show has received wide critical acclaim for its topical take on everything from politics to divorce.

โ€œThereโ€™s certainly a pressure to live up to it this time around but we knew we could be these characters again,โ€ Eric McCormack, who plays Will Truman, said at LAโ€™s PaleyFest over the weekend.

โ€œI just feel like this has been a magic carpet ride, this reboot.โ€

Even more magical was Megan Mullallyโ€™s (who plays Karen) apparent โ€œpsychicโ€ prediction of the showโ€™s return.

โ€œI emailed [creator] Max Mutchnick, and I said, โ€˜Why canโ€™t we just do the show again?โ€™,โ€ she revealed at the panel. โ€œAnd he emailed back, โ€˜We can.'โ€

She added: โ€œNeither of us knew but I just got this strong, incredibly overpowering feeling that we would do the show again.โ€

Season one of the revival has already seen a number of guest stars pop by Willโ€™s iconic apartment including singer Jennifer Lopez and actress Jane Lynch. We hear Alec Baldwin will also reprise his role as Karenโ€™s lover before the season ends.

With so much star-power, we can only hope many more episodes will eventuate.
