Ser Jorah Mormont on why season seven of Game Of Thrones is the best yet

Does this mean he’s FINALLY out of the friend-zone?!

Iain Glen, who plays the steadfast, loyal and firmly friend-zoned Ser Jorah on Game Of Thrones, is singing season seven’s praises.

The highly anticipated return of the series was pushed back to July 16 and we’re currently desperate for any news from Westeros!

According to Iain, showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff have outdone themselves this time around.

“I wrote to Dan (Weiss) and David (Benioff) and I said I thought they were the best seven episodes they’ve ever written,” Iain told

We can only speculate if Iain’s praise for the season relates specifically to his character Ser Jorah, who hasn’t had the best of luck throughout the series so far. Nevertheless, he is still alive – and in Game Of Thrones, that’s no mean feat.

Ser Jorah has contracted a deadly illness and is currently seeking a cure at the behest of Daenerys. However, Iain believes that his character life means less to him than approval from Daenerys herself.

“His loss of life is not as big for him as seeking her redemption,” he says.

Interesting…

If for whatever reason Ser Jorah and Daenerys don’t end up together (we’d be VERY surprised if they did) we’d love to see romance develop between Brienne of Tarth and Tormund Giantsbane.

There was certainly a hint of it last season and if season seven is shaping up to be as brutal as it sounds, a love story could provide some much needed light relief!
