The latest Disney classic getting the live-action treatment is family favourite, Pinocchio.
Following suit of fellow live-action renditions Beauty & The Beast and The Lion King, Pinocchio will breathe a new level of life in the famous puppet with the first look at the film giving us that magical Disney tingle.
The story is expected to follow the traditional tale which sees Tuscan woodcarver Geppetto craft a puppet boy, before wishing upon a star that sees him come to life and head on a quest to become a ‘real boy’.
In the first trailer for the film, we see Tom Hanks as Geppetto reciting the film’s most iconic quote: “Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight; I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight.”
Naturally, it’s followed by the tale’s equally iconic tune, ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ and cue the tingles.
Who is cast in the live-action Pinocchio?
The lead role of the film as Pinocchio is the work of British child actor Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, known for The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Sandman, his creator Geppetto is portrayed by Tom Hanks and our personal favourite, Jiminy Cricket is voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Tackling another Disney live-action following his stint as Gaston in Beauty & The Beast, Luke Evans will portray The Coachman, while Cynthia Erivo will play the Blue Fairy and Keegan-Michael Key voices Honest John.
