Only one team has plated up so far in the new season of My Kitchen Rules, but there’s one contestant who is already voicing his confidence in being able to outcook all his rivals: Tyson.
The 26-year-old Uber driver was incredibly vocal in his criticism of what Tassie sweethearts Damo and Caz dished up on night one, declaring that he could definitely do better.
“I think I’m confident, but not over confident,” he said to judge Manu Feildel of his attitude towards the competition.
And he stands by that claim when he spoke to TV WEEK – although he admits he’s conscious that he’ll also be harshly judged when it comes time for him and his sister Amy to cook.
“I’ve always been confident in our cooking abilities together, but we haven’t been tested at this sort of level, so it’s always in the back of your mind that you might stuff up.
“But it’s part of the game is to portray confidence. Amy and I are very straight forward and to the point. Even with our humour we’re very dry so people can sort of take that the wrong way.
“We like to challenge ourselves with food and we’re here to win.”
Tyson’s sister Amy backs up her brother’s bold claims.
“Tyson is technically very good,” she promises. “We’ll be honest when we don’t deliver good food and I think other people need to be honest about things like that as well.”
