From the ever-thrilling Westworld scoring a third season, to the long-awaited Heathers reboot finally being given a new premiere date, here’s everything you need to know about TV, today.
HBO’s wildly successful Emmy-award-winning series Westworld has been renewed for a third season, just one week after the first episode of Season 2 premiered.
Westworld is a sci-fi western thriller series, based on the 1973 film of the same name. It takes place in a fictional Wild-West-themed amusement park, which allows its rich visitors to live out their wildest fantasies with the robotic android “hosts.”
It stars an incredible cast of actors including Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, and Thandie Newton. The second season has been executive produced by major names including J.J. Abrams, Richard J. Lewis, Roberto Patino, Athena Wickham and Ben Stephenson.
“It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew,” says Casey Bloys, President of HBO Programming, reports Deadline. “From the inspired storytelling to the incredible visuals, we are so excited to see where the next chapter will take us.”
We can’t wait to see what happens in Season 3! First things first, however, we’ve got to make it through the second season (which has new episodes airing weekly at 11am and 8:30pm on Monday’s on HBO on Foxtel).

Meanwhile, Paramount Network has confirmed a new premiere date for its dark comedy series Heathers on July 10th in the United States.
Much like the original film of the same name, the show follows “nice” student Veronica Sawyer as she copes with the fall-out from leaving her high school’s vicious popular group AKA “The Heathers.” Enter one psychotic boyfriend – Jason “JD” Dean – and things take a murderous turn.
The reboot of the iconic 1988 film was put on hold, following the devastating high school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in February.
The network says of the delay: “While we stand firmly behind the show, in light of the recent tragic events in Florida and out of respect for the victims, their families and loved ones, we feel the right thing to do is delay the premiere until later this year.”
Back home in Australia, Delta Goodrem’s Olivia Newton-John biopic has been given a release date, with the singer confirming that Olivia Newton John: Hopelessly Devoted To You will air on Channel Seven on Sunday 13th of April at 8:30pm.
“She is an icon. I am deeply humbled to play my idol and friend,” says Goodrem of the exciting role.
Busy Philipps of Dawson’s Creek and Freaks and Geeks fame has FINALLY scored her own series, landing a late-night talk show with E! called Busy Tonight.
The show is set to feature comedic commentary on culture, interviews with special guests, and segments that go behind her most famous Instagram stories.

Salma Hayek Pinault is in talks to executive produce and star in a new comedy series directed by Bridesmaids’ Paul Fieg, reports Deadline.
The show, which will be Hayek’s first series starring role in the U.S., is currently in negotiations at Amazon.
Written by HBO’s Divorce producer Patty Breen, the potential comedy series would be set in London amid the world of international diplomacy, with Hayek’s character being “an ambassador type-role.”
Here’s hoping the project makes its way off the ground.
