It’s not every day that an opportunity to travel the world comes along, so naturally, the new Travel Guides critics jumped at the chance.
Though their travel styles don’t always mesh, these six groups of Aussies are taking on the challenge (or privilege, as some may say) with unabashed excitement, some cultural confusion and a hearty dose of laughs.
On Travel Guides Australia 2018, we see three groups return with their witty and often hilarious criticisms, and are joined by three newbie groups who are ready to take on the world.
We get to know them below.
From minor meltdowns to major mishaps, there’s never a dull moment for the Fren family from Newcastle, NSW. In season one of the Aussie travel show, they were compared to the fictional Griswold family from the National Lampoon film series.
But now the German café-running Frens are back. And they’re hoping to ditch the label this season.
Identical twins, Stack and Mel are back, and their country charm is as, er, charming as ever!
No longer strangers to travel, they’re ready to explore new experiences and even find bliss in balmy Bali.
These city slickers have a sisterly bond and an addiction to social media. After all, pics or it didn’t happen!
The 27-year-olds always find time for a treat. At least when they’re not out hunting for a man..
The trio from Target – Kev, Dorian and Teng – are budget travellers always looking for an adventure, and a bite to eat.
They say their ideal holiday involves adrenaline, local pubs and any food they can get their hands on.
Kev and Janetta need no explaining. The Travel Guides veterans are back and on the look out for the best the world can offer – accommodation, food and wine.
