The return of a beloved character is always a cause for celebration amongst fans. And now The Young And The Restless die-hards have cause to rejoice THREE times over, with the return of three familiar faces.
According to Entertainment Weekly ex-Genoa City residents, Lorie Brooks (Jaime Lyn Bauer), Leslie Brooks (Janice Lynde) and Julia Newman (Meg Bennett) will all be returning home.
Fans will be delighted to know there won’t be a Kyle Abbott-esque recast, either; all three original actresses are reprising their roles.
The return comes as part of a tribute to The Young And The Restless’ 45th anniversary. Both Lorie and Leslie made up part of the Brooks, the first family of Genoa City. We can only guess that such a prestigious title will come with an equally high standing level of drama.
Jamie Lyn played Lorie from 1973 to 1982, returning twice in 1984 and 2002. Janice portrayed Leslie from 1973 to 1977 when she left and was recast, while Meg debuted as Julia in 1980 with her most recent reprisal being in 2002.
While the show commemorates its 45th year on air, it also recently celebrated 29 consecutive years as daytime’s no.1 drama in the US.
An exact air date is yet to be determined, but we’re sure it’ll be one – or three – drama fuelled events.
