If you loved Colin from Accounts (and didn’t we all?) as equally as you did Love Me, then you’ll want to place BINGE’s new series The Lovers on your radar.
Unlike Colin from Accounts and Love Me – which were both filmed in Australia – The Lovers is set in Belfast and is a sexy, funny, fight-y love story about two people who appear to be utterly wrong for each other, yet may just be utterly right.
Sound familiar? That’s because it has all the makings of classic rom-com gold, and, judging by the first look teaser for the new drama series (which you can watch in the video player above), The Lovers seems to feature the perfect balance of humour and romance.
So, if you’re eager to add this hot new series to your watch list, then read on for everything you need to know, including where to watch The Lovers Down Under.
What is The Lovers about?
As per the synopsis, the series follows Janet, a bad-tempered, hilarious, Belfast supermarket worker who doesn’t seem to care about anything much, including her life.
We also meet Seamus, a handsome, self-centred, political broadcaster with what looks to be a perfect London life and a celebrity girlfriend.
So when Seamus unexpectedly drops into Janet’s world (literally over the wall and into her backyard) they instantly clash – and yet also find themselves inextricably drawn to each other…
In the teaser trailer we see their two worlds colliding in the most spectacular fashion as the two connect (fist to face, of course) on all fronts.
Who is cast in The Lovers?
The Lovers stars Johnny Flynn (Beast, Emma) and Roisin Gallagher (The Fall, The Dry) as Seamus and Janet, respectively.
Joining them are Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones, Holding) and Alice Eve (Belgravia, Star Trek Into Darkness).
