Will The Block’s Hannah and Clint finish the build?

Jason and Sarah aren’t the only ones having money issues.

They say money makes the world go round. Well, it certainly helps to have plenty of it when working on The Block.

Earlier this week, host Scotty Cam had some pretty harsh words for Jason and Sarah after the couple failed to complete their Master Suite in time for judging due to overspending.

And now it seems they’re not the only team who will struggle to finish.

At the beginning of The Block, each team was given $250,000 to go towards their renovations. But reno rookies Hannah and Clint were left shattered when Scotty popped by their home recently to inform them that they had less than $72,000 cash left to complete the rest of the build. They thought they had double that.

“The ‘B’ word is the hot topic on The Block this week,” Hannah, who is in charge of the couple’s budget, tells TV WEEK.

“It’s hard because we just want to create the best rooms that we can.

Clint and Hannah’s budget is dwindling fast

“Yes, we made a few mistakes early on in the piece with trades and things we felt the house needed and it has come back to bite us.”

After coping a spray from Scotty, Hannah says she and Clint intend to mindful with their spending moving forward – which may prove difficult during kitchen week and if you consider Hannah’s ‘champagne’ taste.

“We really need to watch our spending,” Hannah says.

“Scotty has since allocated us a budget and we’re sticking to it.”

Unlike Jason and Sarah, Hannah says the couple won’t give up and are determined to see the entire build through.

“Clint and I are the sorts of people that we won’t let it defeat us. We’ve just got to move forward and stick to the budget.”

Speaking of her time on the show, Hannah admits having to manage all of the finances on top of the physical labour hasn’t been easy.

“I knew we would struggle in general terms of timelines, trades and not understanding the entire construction process but I didn’t think we’d have money issues,” she says.

“I didn’t think we’d be struggling as much with money.”
