Meet the five new couples ready to transform five family homes on the 13th season of The Block Australia.
“I’m really proud that we were able to save these houses from demolition and deliver the great Australian dream of a big, modern family home,” host Scotty Cam says.
“The scale of this project is like nothing we’ve attempted before – we’re transforming a street and it sure is going to test our latest crop of Blockheads.”
Go-Getters
Carpenter Josh, 28, and model Elyse, 24, VIC.
She might have good looks, but don’t underestimate model Elyse and her boyfriend of four years Josh. “I’m not just a normal model who likes to look pretty all the time,” Elyse says. “I really don’t care what I look like, and I’m happy to get my hands dirty.”
Reno Rookies
Qantas employee Hannah, 31, and former NRL player Clint, 33, QLD.
This couple isn’t deterred by having zero renovating experience. In fact, they’re ready to throw themselves in to the competition. “We’re underdogs, but bring it on!” Clint says.
Relaxed achievers
Plumber Jason, 46, and nurse Sarah, 45, VIC.
The married couple have been renovating their own home for the past decade but have been setback by a lack of finances. And it’s a trait that certainly comes in handy on a Block site. “We’re used to living on a building site – I definitely think that’s a bit of an advantage,” Sarah adds.
The experts
Plasterer Ronnie, 41, and kid’s clothing designer Georgia, 33, WA.
With 10 renovations under their belts already, married duo Ronnie and Georgia will be a tough team to beat. “We didn’t come here to make friends,” Ronnie says.
Laidback larrikins
Carpenter and photographer Sticks, 31, and salesman Wombat, 38, NSW.
Best friends from a small coastal town, Sticks decided to apply for The Block and convinced Wombat to do it with him.
“I did it, because Sticks asked me to,” Wombat says, adding the pair won’t take any nonsense from the other teams. “I’ll tend to blow up if something happens but get over it really quickly.”
