My Kitchen Rules – 2010

Audiences love watching teams transform their homes into restaurants on My Kitchen Rules. We never tire of judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans as they search for our best home cooks.

Angry Boys – 2011

The talented Chris Lilley returned to character comedy in Angry Boys. The series is best remembered for the controversial inclusion of the character S.Mouse, an African American rapper, who was played by Chris.

Let’s hear it for the boys! We’ve loved House Husbands ever since it landed on the Nine Network back in 2012. Watching Justin (Firass Dirani), Kane (Gyton Grantley), Mark (Rhys Muldoon) and Lewis (Gary Sweet) navigate fatherhood without falling apart has been hilarious.

Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries – 2012

Mixing glamour with murder, the series was a hit for the ABC. Essie Davis stole the show as private eye Phryne Fisher, earning a Gold Logie nomination in 2016.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries – 2013

Craig McLachlan is no stranger to our pages, but his portrayal of Dr Lucien Blake in The Doctor Blake Mysteries has seen the former Neighbours star grace the cover again. The series is so loved it was rescued by Channel Seven this year after being axed by the ABC.

House Rules – 2013

Hosted by Johanna Griggs, the show follows six everyday couples as they transform each other’s houses into dream homes. Previously, the winners’ mortgage would be paid off, but that all changed this year and now $200,000 is up for grabs.

Wentworth – 2013

Fact: Wentworth changed the game when it debuted in 2013. Never before had a pay TV show had such widespread appeal. Picking up where Prisoner left off, Wentworth was raw, violent and irresistible. It’s also served up some seriously memorable moments, including the steam press, the death of Debbie (Georgia Flood) and, of course, Bea’s (Danielle Cormack) fatal showdown with The Freak (Pamela Rabe).

Ja’mie: Private School Girl – 2013

Chris Lilley was back to his old tricks in 2013 with Ja’mie: Private School Girl, a six-part series focusing on wealthy school girl, Ja’mie King. Chris Lilley won the 2014 Logie award for Most Popular Actor for the series in 2014.

The Bachelor Australia/The Bachelorette Australia– 2013

Love has been in the air ever since Tim Robards found love with Anna Heinrich. Then, after Bachelor Blake Garvey broke up with her, Sam Frost returned for another shot in 2015, but her romance with Sasha Mielczarek was short-lived.

Upper Middle Bogan – 2013

All our bogan wishes were granted when ABC released Upper Middle Bogan in 2013. While we love the whole crew, Michala Banas steals the show as Amber Wheeler, bogan extraordinaire.

A Place To Call Home – 2013

Our answer to Downton Abbey, the series has been through many ups and downs, including being cancelled by Channel Seven at the end of the second season before being saved by Foxtel. It boasts a stellar cast, including Noni Hazlehurst and Marta Dusseldorp.

Janet King – 2014

A spin-off of ABC show Crownies, Janet King premiered in 2014 and the legal thriller quickly became one of our favourites. Marta Dusseldorp is in a league of her own as Janet, a take-no-prisoners Crown prosecutor.

INXS: Never Tear Us Apart – 2014

The mystique of INXS was brought to life in this miniseries. Charting their rise from pub band to rock sensations, the miniseries also put the death of lead singer Michael Hutchence back in the spotlight.

Love Child – 2014

Sydney’s Kings Cross played host to yet another drama when Love Child began in 2014. Starring Jessica Marais and Miranda Tapsell – who both won Logies for their work in Love Child – the series lifts the lid on Australia’s infamous forced adoption policy in the ’60s and ’70s.

800 Words – 2015

We needed to fill the Erik Thomson– shaped hole in our lives after Packed To The Rafters finished in 2013. Luckily, 800 Words arrived two years later. Erik plays George, a widower who makes the ultimate sea change, swapping Sydney for a New Zealand hamlet.

Married At First Sight – 2015

Dubbed Australia’s most controversial experiment, matchmakers pair couples who agree to tie the knot. At the end, they choose to stay together or go their separate ways.

Molly – 2016

It was long overdue, but Molly Meldrum landed his own miniseries in 2016. Channel Seven’s two-parter told the story of Molly’s life, with Samuel Johnson winning the Silver Logie for Best Actor and Gold Logie in 2017. Molly also picked up the TV WEEK Logie Award for Best Drama Program.

The Kettering Incident – 2016

Across eight tense episodes, Showcase’s The Kettering Incident lured viewers in. Elizabeth Debicki was a force as the mysterious doctor who returns to her hometown of Kettering to uncover a long-lost truth.

The Secret Daughter – 2016

When the talented 2006 Australian Idol runner-up was announced as the star of Channel Seven’s The Secret Daughter, we were over the moon. Jessica seemed born to play Billie, a country pub singer on the hunt for her real father.

Doctor Doctor – 2016

Any show with Rodger Corser is worth watching and this is no exception. Rodger plays Hugh Knight, a less-than-humble heart surgeon who begrudgingly takes a job in his hometown of Whyhope.

Barracuda – 2016

Based on the 2013 book by Christos Tsiolkas, Barracuda follows Danny Kelly (Elias Anton), an up-and-coming swimmer who has to battle pride and prejudice in his quest to be the best. Rachel Griffiths, Jeremy Lindsay Taylor and Matt Nable round out an impressive cast.

Australian Ninja Warrior – 2017

This year, the hit show came down under. It didn’t disappoint, smashing the TV ratings with around two million viewers an episode.
