It’s been a week since he was unexpectedly given the boot by Sophie Monk, but we’re still not over Luke McLeod’s shock exit on The Bachelorette last week.

Since he stepped foot into the mansion, all shy and puppy-dog eyes, the hunky business culture consultant, 33, was viewed by almost all of Australia as the favourite to win Soph’s heart, as well as her final rose.

But that all changed when intruder Stu Landy, 44, swooped in by chopper late in the game and promptly shook things up.

“I was trying to be patient and wait for my opportunity to develop a stronger relationship with her, then all of a sudden in comes this guy,” Luke dishes to NW exclusively about the successful pub owner, who was famously stood up by Sophie last year pre-Bachie.

“It was quite obvious they had something.”

“The reason I might have gone is because of Stu’s single date,” he continues, trying to piece together some reasoning behind his surprise elimination.

“Eliminating me would allow her to develop something with him without the complications of another guy that she doesn’t have proper feelings for.”

Despite the fact that Stu appears to be the perfect guy for Sophie, Luke isn’t so sure.

“There are certainly some things she’d need to consider if she chose Stu… The history, where he comes from and things surrounding his lifestyle,” he spills.

So if it’s not Stu, who is Luke’s pick for Sophie then?

“Jimmy’s a good choice for her – he’s a laid back dude from the [Sydney] Northern Beaches and ticks a lot of her boxes, too,” he tells us.

Meanwhile, don’t expect to see the dreamboat on the recently-confirmed Aussie version of Bachelor in Paradise

“It doesn’t really sound like my sort of thing, so I don’t know…,” he admits.

Well, that’s not a firm no Lukey boy, so we’re not writing you off just yet!
