Tonight was a big night on The Bachelorette Australia. We saw four (older) intruders enter the mansion, and four contestants leave, including 24-year-old restaurant manager, Harry Farran.
Speaking to TV WEEK, Harry, from WA, told us that when the intruders, which included multi-millionaire Stu Laundy, arrived, he knew his time would be up soon.
“With the intruders coming in there was definitely that fear,” he says. “On the day, Osher [Günsberg] mentioned that some of the younger guys aren’t ready to settle down and my heart kind of sank a little bit because I was like ‘yep, that’s me’.”
Harry admits he wasn’t quite ready for the life Bachelorette Sophie Monk wanted.
“I guess my idea of settling down and hers was different,” he explains. “She was ready to really slow down in life in general, in family and kids, and I was looking to have a stable career and have a partner that I was ready to commit to and be more settled than I am now. I’m looking forward to finding my partner in crime to travel and explore the world with.”
According to Harry, Sophie has been putting the hard word on some of the men (including himself) to find out if they’re looking for the same thing she is.
He says: “She didn’t have a lot of time to chat to everyone so she asked me those hard questions, like what kind of person I’m looking to settle down with. And it did almost prepare me for the following ceremony. So I was obviously sad and disappointed, but it was almost a little suspected.
All four intruders, Guy, Stu, AJ and Paul, were older than the Bachelors already in the mansion, and this was a little threatening for the younger men.
“I remember Osher’s words being that the younger guys aren’t ready to settle down and that’s who she chose to let go, the younger guys who are not at the stage in their lives where they’re looking at settling down,” he confesses.
So, what does Harry think about Jarrod, the man who’s been dubbed a ‘stage 5 clinger’?
He only has good words for him.
“Jarrod is a great guy, we got along really well in the house. Jarrod was playing the Jarrod game. He’s ex-military so the way he takes on certain things, it’s like he has a mission to complete. I think he said to Sam, ‘I’m not here to fall in love with one of you guys, I’m here for Sophie’.”

“I’m a pretty strong supporter in Jarrod and his game, especially in the honesty side of things, I think she really appreciates that. He’ll do well as long as he keeps his cool..
“At the end of the day, it’s not the way I did compete, but I have to respect that’s how he goes about things and hell, I think it’s worked pretty well for him. He’s being very forward and very open to Sophie about that.”
He adds: “[Jarrod] was completely honest about how ready he is to have kids and have a family, and I was honest about how I was probably a few years off kids and a family.”
Harry admits that he’s not out searching for his ‘partner in crime’ but there might be a new romance on the cards.
“I’ve started to spend time with someone. I wouldn’t put it as dating just yet, it’s pretty fresh,” he reveals.
With the news that Bachelor in Paradise Australia is officially happening, Harry has confessed he’d happily jump on board.
“Yeah I would 100 per cent do it if I’m still single. At the end of the day, I went on The Bachelorette looking for someone to fall in love and I’m still trying to do that so if it doesn’t happen then yeah.”
