She might be the frontrunner for Matty Johnston’s heart on The Bachelor Australia, but it turns out Laura Byrne has known him for quite some time.
Yep, the pair appears to be falling hopelessly in love with each other before our very eyes, but could the romance have started before they even entered the Bachie mansion?
“No-one was buying that Laura and Matty met for the first time at the mansion,” a source tells NW exclusively. “They were all too familiar from night one.”
In fact, Matty and Laura met at a New Year’s Eve party in Sydney’s Point Piper, where they were joined by other former Bachie peeps, including Noni Janur and Sam Johnston. Apparently, Matty and Laura hit it off so well that they met up again days later.
“They hit up Icebergs in Bondi together with a friend each and spent some time in the sauna,” an insider tells NW.
Yep, the pair enjoyed themselves as they sipped from coconuts and took some snaps out by the pool.
This isn’t the first time a Bachelor has met a contestant before going on the dating show.
Indeed, Season Three’s Sam Wood was outed for having a Bali holiday fling with Bec Chin, which was never addressed on the show.
Hmm, sounds suss if you ask us!
