Last night, Matty Johnson gave the final rose to Laura Byrne on The Bachelor Australia finale, declaring his love for her. He didnโt drop the knee and propose, but he did gift her a stunning diamond promise ring.
Now, TV WEEK can exclusively reveal the stunning sparkler Matty J had designed for his lucky lady โ and itโs absolutely breathtaking.
Created by Larsen Jewellery, who specialise in custom-made engagement and wedding rings; the piece is made in 18ct white gold and set with a stunning 1.30ct oval diamond.

The sparkler is 18ct white gold.

Itโs set with a stunning 1.30ct oval diamond.

It also features 32 diamonds set in to the shoulders of the ring, and a delicate band with intricate woven wire detail underneath the centre diamond.
โMatty wanted the ring to be feminine and elegant,โ Kate Reid, Senior Jeweller at Larsen Jewellery, tells TV WEEK.
โThis ring is the perfect example of the way that our team of jewellers work closely with each customer, in this case, Matty J, to create a piece of jewellery that is personal, unique and that they will love for a lifetime.โ
So just why did Matty go with this particular design?

The ring is a stunner

Matty had the ring specially designed for Laura
โIt is often suggested that the entwined wire symbolises a future with two lives woven into one,โ Kate explains, adding Matty selected the oval cut diamond himself.
โHe was very involved in the whole process and we worked together to sketch out and finalise the design.โ
Having created and designed wedding bands for actress Teresa Palmer and her husband Mark Webber, Kate says despite the quick turnaround, her team managed to deliver the goods.
โOur design appointment with Matty lasted a little over an hour and our jewellers started making the ring on the same say,โ Kate reveals.

We think the ring is perfect for Laura!
โLetโs just say we pulled off a miracle to get it ready in time for Matty,โ Kate laughs.
So will Matty officially ask Laura to marry him anytime soon? The 31-year-old certainly didnโt deny it when we put the question to him.
โThere are people who propose in six weeks. You think โHow the hell does that make sense?โ But I think when you find the right one, you know,โ Matty says.
