We discuss the big talking points on TV this week

From love triangles on Home And Away to the Dirty Dancing remake, here's what has the TV WEEK talking this week.
George Mason, Pia Miller & Penny Mcnamee

1. Home And Away – Hurry up and decide!

Having to choose between hot doc Tori (Penny McNamee) and policewoman Kat (Pia Miller) has created a huge mess for Ash (George Mason).

But come on, this love triangle has gone on for way
too long.

In that time in Home And Away, viewers have seen a new arrival, a car crash and even a hostage situation unfold
in Summer Bay.

It’s time to make a decision
and move on, Ash.

2. Game Of Thrones – But we aren’t ready to break up

This season of Game Of Thrones has flown by with the speed of one of Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) dragons.

After the slow and steady pace we’ve come to expect from the previous six seasons, we’ve got whiplash from the plot twists and storyline reveals over the past seven episodes.

But we’ve enjoyed the building momentum, and waiting another year before the eighth and final season will really test our patience.

3. Hell’s Kitchen Australia – Celebrity cooks spoil the broth

The ratings haven’t been kind to Hell’s Kitchen Australia.

And we think we know why: it messed with a winning recipe.

In the US version, the star of the show is head chef Gordon Ramsay. The participants are regular cooks who want to crack the big time.

Along
the way, the entertainment comes from Gordon berating their ineptitude.

In the local version, they’ve gone down the celebrity route and it simply hasn’t worked.

Next time, celebs out, regular cooks in, and let Marco Pierre White be the bona fide star of the show.

4. The Doctor Blake Mysteries – The good doc is (almost) back

With so much reality TV filling up the primetime viewing schedule, many people are feeling as though there’s not enough quality dramas on free-to-air TV at the moment.

But don’t give up just yet, loyal TV WEEK readers.

A dose of The Doctor Blake Mysteries is coming your way very soon.

And the even better news is there’s a The Doctor Blake Mysteries telemovie just around the corner.

5. Dirty Dancing – Time of our lives 2.0

That’s right, Dirty Dancing is back! With a hot new cast led by Abigail Breslin as Baby (top right) and Colt Prattes as Johnny (left), and other big names including Debra Messing and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, the stage is set for a killer remake.

But while we’re intrigued by what a 21st century version might look like, we wonder if a film as adored as Dirty Dancing should be touched at all.

Can it live up to the original?
