The Bachelorette Australia finale week is finally here and it’s fair to say Sophie Monk mania is upon us!
The whole nation is counting down to Thursday night’s Bachelorette finale and now, one surprise super-fan has emerged from the rubble of rotting roses.
Front-runner Stu Laundy’s politician big brother Craig Laundy, who is the Assistant Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science for the Liberal Party, has taken it upon himself to prove he’s down with the kids, and his younger sibling’s love life, by filming his own Bachelorette Australia recaps.
The father-of-three, who worked in the family’s successful pub empire before moving into politics, was noticeably absent from 44-year-old Stu’s home visit last week.
But Craig says he has good reason for being MIA.
“I wasn’t at my family appearance, I had to shove a knitting needle in my eye,” the 46-year-old explains in his recap.
Before adding: “One more week to go! Who will get that last rose? Will it be Apollo, our favourite magician. Jarrod… I can’t even say what he is, what is he?”
In the background, a staffer yells out: “Stage-five clinger,” before Craig buries his head in shame on the photocopier.
“Or will it be my young brother Stu?” he concludes.
Stu’s cheeky brother is also quite prolific on Twitter, providing tongue-in-cheek commentary about Stu and the boys.
“Only just started watching #bacheloretteAU has there ever been a rose awarded to someone that’s declared they’ve had a vasectomy & are married,” Craig penned on October 19th.
“I’ve only been watching the @BacheloretteAU for 2 weeks – how has this show never win a “Logie” ?! #justsaying #BacheloretteAu.”

It’s not the first time a straight-laced pollie has tried to get down with the youth and we must admit, Craig’s attempts were so good we almost clicked “like” on his Facebook page so we could stay up to date on his Bachie posts.
But then we remembered Craig doesn’t support same-sex marriage…
Meanwhile, the Liberal MP’s potential new sister-in-law Sophie Monk dropped a bombshell on Sunday night during an appearance on The Project.
WATCH: Sophie Monk reveals a secret engagement! Post continues…
The 37-year-old, who was previously engaged to French businessman Jimmy Esebag and Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, admitted to a secret engagement that no one knew about!
“I’ve been engaged two-and-a-half times,” the former Bardot singer confessed.
When questioned over the curious half engagement, the reality star explained: “I said yes [but] I didn’t really want to. I didn’t go public with it and just kind of kept that one to myself.”
Excuse us while we re-visit all of Sophie Monk’s ex-boyfriends to try and figure out who this mystery man could be!
