Spicks and Specks is making a return to your TV screen, for one night only!
The beloved music quiz show, which ran from 2005 to 2011, is being revived for a special episode, set to air in November during ABC’s Ausmusic Month.
Host Adam Hills, and team captains Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough, are all returning to the hit show. They will be joined by special guests including Adam Briggs, Frank Woodley, Ricki-Lee Coulter, and Denise Scott. Australian musicians will also be joining the reunion line-up.
“Like most music acts, Myf, Alan and I are getting the band back together for one last gig,” Adam says.
“But unlike most music acts, we all still get along with each other, and can’t wait to spend some time in each other’s company.”
Myf shared her excitement on Twitter, writing “The word is out. Spicks & Specks reunion here we come!”
Spicks and Specks was beloved by Australian audiences, with the series being nominated for 12 TV WEEK Logie Awards and winning three over the course of its seven-year run.
Popular segments on the music quiz show included ‘Substitute’, where a member from each team must sing a well-known song using lyrics from a random book they are given, and ‘Mondegreens’, where the teams try to guess the song from mistaken lyrics.
Spicks and Specks was known for featuring famous musicians and hilarious comedians on their panels, along with Myf and Alan. Regular Australian guests included Ella Hooper, Colin Lane, Ross Noble and Hamish Blake.
The Spicks and Specks reunion show will air on ABC in November, with the network set to release more from its Ausmusic Month line-up soon. Stay tuned!
