Leading lady Sigrid Thornton is bursting with enthusiasm ahead of working on the revival of classic Aussie drama series SeaChange.
“I didn’t think any one of us had really considered it would be back, but it’s so exciting,” the 59-year-old tells TV WEEK.
In addition to reprising her role as lawyer Laura Gibson, Sigrid will also be a producer on the Nine Network series.
One important detail yet to be determined is the exact seaside location where the show will be filmed.
Nevertheless, Sigrid is positive fans are going to love the next instalment.
“We left people wanting more at the end of the third series [in 2000],” she says.
“I think that’s a good thing, as it has set us up for so many possibilities and opportunities for the next series.”
Sigrid says she is “thrilled” to return to the beloved role.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to Pearl Bay,” she says.
“Time has passed and the world has changed, so as we revisit this rich and strange place I trust we’ll all delight in the chance to explore how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go. I can hardly wait.”
