Anyone who has planned a wedding will agree that it doesn’t always come together smoothly.
But few people can say they’ve come up against armed gunmen in the process!
That’s the premise of action-comedy Shotgun Wedding, which you can watch on Prime Video, where criminals hijack a couple’s nuptials.
To keep their loved ones safe, the bride and groom will do whatever it takes. But in the process, they’ll learn more about themselves – and their wedding – than they expected.
Josh and Jennifer had plenty of natural chemistry whilst on set.

Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez, who has starred in a host of rom coms, says it was ”so much fun” to delve into the action genre alongside co-star Josh Duhamel, particularly on a tropical island.
”It was a beautiful setting [filming took place in the Dominican Republic] and it felt like an extension of the fun. Everyone was so relaxed,” Jennifer, 53, tells TV WEEK, adding that the action element of the film allowed her to step outside her comfort zone.
”It’s a romantic comedy, but also an adventure,” she explains.
”There’s so much that happens. The core of it is about families coming together, and our characters [Darcy and Tom] figuring out who they are and how they can make their marriage work – if they can.
”They start out on different ends of the spectrum – not just [in regard to] the wedding, but their marriage. Where it goes is crazy. They discover each other and what they want.”
Things don’t go as planned come wedding day!
(IMAGE: Supplied)Josh, 50, adds that director Jason Moore wasn’t afraid to take risks, which encouraged him to sign on.
”He wasn’t afraid to make this a big romp of a movie,” he says.
”Tonally, it felt different to anything I’ve done. He always talked about squeezing a little lemon on that sugar.”

Both stars have recently walked down the aisle themselves.
Jennifer and Ben Affleck tied the knot in a highly publicised wedding, while just a few months earlier, Josh married Audra Mari in their hometown in North Dakota.
While both recognise the symmetry with their characters, they’re happy to declare their own special days went very differently.
”Our wedding was in much better hands, with my wife conducting everything,” Josh explains.
”It was almost a surprise because she did a lot of it. It was beautiful.”
Jennifer adds that ”planning a wedding is a lot”, which led them to elope.
”That’s why we ran off to Vegas,” she says with a laugh.
”It took all the pressure off. Everything we do, we try to do together. We planned it all together.”

(IMAGE: Supplied)In Shotgun Wedding, Darcy is startled by the arrival of her ex-boyfriend, played by pop star Lenny Kravitz, who is invited by her father.
Thankfully, the same didn’t occur at her own nuptials.
”No, that would never happen!” she says.
”My dad is very quiet and gentle; he’d never invite any ex-boyfriends. However, if you said my mum…!” [Laughs]
Grammy-award winner Lenny says stepping into someone else’s shoes was a welcome change.
”I get to collaborate and serve a character and script,” Lenny, 58, says.
”When I’m making music, I’m primarily in the studio by myself, writing and producing. We all enjoyed each other’s company and had a lot of gratitude for doing what we do.”

She stars as Tom’s mother Carol, alongside Steve Coulter as his dad Larry.
”I’ve never been married, but Steve has been lucky enough to find love,” Jennifer, 61, says of their chemistry.
”I was just fortunate to work with someone who could banter with me.
”I love the rom-coms that combine action and drama. I haven’t been in a lot of those. Josh and Jen have great chemistry and are so sexy. And Lenny is just walking sex.”
”At least I’m walking!” Lenny fires back with a laugh.

In fact, Lenny was one of the first to congratulate her after she won her Golden Globe.
”The trophy is still sitting in my hotel room,” the actress says with a proud smile.
