After two long decades, SeaChange finally returned to TV screens on Tuesday night.
And while there were plenty of welcome faces back lighting up the fictional world of Pearl Bay – including Sigrid Thornton, John Howard and Kerry Armstrong – it was the new guy in town that was a particular scene-stealer.
Darren McMullen made a return to acting as the good-looking marine biologist Findlay Knox, who sizzles in his entrance.
A shirtless Findlay saunters out of the water to meet Brooke Satchwell’s character Miranda, (the estranged daughter of Sigrid Thornton’s Laura Gibson) in his opening scene.
“I think my kayak sprung a leak out there,” he quipped, adding “Hiya, I’m Findlay Knox” as Miranda looked on confused.
The character’s instant charm and Darren’s ripped body had SeaChange fans swooning.

(Image: Channel Nine)But it wasn’t just the new arrivals fans were enjoying, with both the audience and the cast itself glad to see everyone back together for the reboot.
Stepping back into her shoes as Heather Jelly, Kerry Armstrong revealed to Woman’s Day how grateful she was that SeaChange is back – along with John Howard, who plays her on-screen husband Bob Jelly.
“I couldn’t be more grateful to be working with him again,” said Kerry.
“He is a tremendously intelligent and funny and nuanced actor – he’s a force to be reckoned with, my Bob Jelly!”
Kerry added it’s been equally wonderful to work alongside other former colleagues like Sigrid, but also admits it’s been nice to see the story – and cast – evolve.
“I am really impressed with the newcomers,” she said.

(Image: Channel Nine)Meanwhile, Sigrid admitted to TV WEEK she’s keen to see how people react to the reincarnation of the Aussie classic.
“I’m interested to see how the audience will respond to this reinvention of a beloved series,” Sigrid said.
“SeaChange is about love, connection and humour. I’m thrilled to be reprising such a wonderful character and story.”
