It’s been almost nine years since the hilarious Scrubs left our screens, and an even greater seventeen years since it first premiered. I know, we’re all really, really old.

But, in good non-old related news, the beloved medical sitcom is making it’s way to our screens once more! The full series is set to start streaming on Stan on Friday 1st of February.

While we’d like to spin around in the air screaming “EAGLE!” in celebration, it seems more fitting to take a look at what our favourite stars are doing now. Especially since the gang are all still very much together.

The stars of Scrubs – including Zach Braff (J.D.), Donald Faison (Turk), Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid), Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa), John C. McGinley (Perry Cox), Neil Flynn (Janitor) and Christa Miller (Jordan) – all still hang out together regularly.

The full original cast even reunited in 2018, for a panel about the show at Vulture Festival.

Zach Braff (J.D.)

As the show’s main character for an impressive nine seasons, it’s hard to imagine Zach in a role other than that of John Michael “J.D.” Dorian. Full name necessary because he was comedic gold.

But, Zach has gone on to star in plenty of other roles.

In 2019 Zach has a few new acting credits to his name, having worked on Oz the Great and Powerful, In Dubious Battle, The Sixth Lead, and more. Just last year he played himself in award-winning film Disaster Artist and he scored a leading role on ABC Studios’ Alex, Inc.

He directed his second feature film after Garden State, working on Wish I Was Here in 2014. The film starred Zach alongside big names such as Kate Hudson, Joey King and, of course, his best pal Donald Faison.

The actor also tried his hand at theatre, writing and performing in a play called All New People, and starring as the lead in a musical adaptation of Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway in 2014.

Seems like Zach is doing incredibly well in a post-Scrubs world, though apparently he wouldn’t say no to a little reboot!

“It seems like everyone wants that so much these days,” he told James Corden last year. “I’m doing Alex, Inc. now, but maybe if it was a TV movie or something. I don’t know. In some incarnation I’d be interested, yeah. I’m still best friends with Donald Faison, who plays Turk.”

Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid)

She was neurotic, cringe-worhty and downright lovable as Elliot, and Sarah has been equally fun to watch in every role she’s taken on since.

Sitcom fans will know that after Scrubs, Sarah starred on How I Met Your Mother for several seasons as Stella Zinman, the fiancée who left Ted Mosby at the altar.

She also switched over to a medical drama for one episode of Grey’s Anatomy, currently voices Beth Smith on Rick and Morty, and has scored roles on shows including Mad Love, Angie Tribeca, Inside Amy Schumer, Roseanne/The Conners and most recently Netflix’s Friends From College.

Donald Faison (Christopher Turk)

As mentioned above, Donald is still best friends with J.D. – we mean, Zach. And their friendship is too adorable for words. Go stalk it out on Instagram here.

Since his role as Turk, Donald has taken on more films with roles in Pitch Perfect, Kick-Ass 2, The Perfect Match, Little Evil and Wish I Was Here. But that doesn’t mean he’s done with TV.

He had a starring role on The Exes for four years, and has appeared on shows including Ray Donovan, Drunk History and House Of Lies.

Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa)

Carla has to be one of the best Scrubs characters, hands down. Since playing the hilarious nurse, Judy has enjoyed major roles on a series of successful shows.

She’s been a series regular on Claws, Devious Maids, Jane The Virgin and had roles on other shows including Netflix’s One Day At A Time, Happily Divorced, Fresh Off The Boat and Blue Bloods.

John C. McGinley (Perry Cox)

He was the tough-love guru and giver of oddly motivational speeches, and since his time on Scrubs John has

The actor currently has recurring roles on Chicago PD and Stan Against Evil, and appeared in the movie Benched last year. John has also had roles in Burn Notice, Ground Floor and WordGirl.

Neil Flynn (The Janitor)

The Janitor, or as he is known by his alter ego Dr. Ján Ĩtor, was one of the best characters on Scrubs, possibly the best character of all time.

Since his starring turn as the world’s strangest and most irritated janitor, Neil has starred in movies including Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

He stars as Fred in the upcoming sitcom Abby’s, and has appeared on TV in Undateable, Key & Peele, Surviving Jack and had a lead role in The Middle while it was on the air from 2009 to 2018.

Scrubs is airing on Stan Australia from February 1.
