Sarah Jessica Parker is known the world over for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the cult hit Sex and the City.
And after playing the iconic character for six seasons and two epic films, there’s no-one else who knows Carrie like she does.
During an interview, the actress, who is currently in Australia promoting her numerous business ventures, threw out into the ether a wild theory that will have you scratching your head.
Brace yourselves, because this one is a doozy.
Speaking to News.com.au, the 54-year-old suggested that perhaps Carrie’s best friends – Miranda Hobbs, Charlotte York and Samantha Jones – didn’t exist at all.
‘Think about it,” she said. “Did Carrie make them up?”
Excuse me? No Charlotte, Samantha or Miranda??

Unfortunately, SJP’s compelling theory seems to make a lot of sense.
“She’s telling a story every week. This is her point of view, it’s almost always her point of view,” she continued, before pointing out that the only time in six years that we weren’t hearing her point of view, was when she left her laptop in New York to follow artist Alexander Petrovsky to Paris.
In fact, the laptop was a “conduit” for her friends to exist.
“…think about it for a second, right?” she told the publication.
And, no thank you. We will be having none of this.

This is not the first time the mother-of-three has broken our hearts when it comes to Carrie.
Back in 2015, the star of stage-and-screen also revealed that she and the sex column author led “radically different” lives.
“I think there’s not a lot about Carrie that is actually similar to my life,” she said. “There are certain kinds of pillars that fundamentally are different. I like clothing, but I don’t have anywhere near a fevered relationship that she does.”
The actress even called her character “immature” during a 2016 interview with CBS Sunday Morning, panning her for always wanting “love, love, love, love all the time” but in a “childish way”.
Hearts broken and minds blown.
We know she’s an authority on the subject, but we refuse to believe anything less than that the ultimate girl squad does exist – because we all know a Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha.
