Less than three months into her new role as co-host of Channel Nine’s The Today Show, and Sarah Abo is already proving to be the right woman for the job.

Late last year it was announced by Nine that Sarah Abo, who was a presenter on 60 Minutes, is to fill the role of The Today Show co-host Ally Langdon as she left to host A Current Affair.

Whilst many Today viewers would have recognised Sarah as she had previously been a fill-in host, it was inevitable with such a high profile role that she will experience some online trolling.

But her approach to the negative commentary is commendable.

Sarah Abo joined Karl Stefanovic as host of The Today Show in mid January.

Sarah was asked about online trolling on the podcast Something To Talk About, with the 35-year-old saying, “If it’s something as trivial as what you’re wearing or the way your hair is [styled], who the hell cares.

“As long as I’m doing a good job that’s all that matters.

‘So sure, have a go at my hair or what I’m wearing. I couldn’t care less.”

Karl and Sarah appear to get along well as co-hosts.

The first day for Sarah in her new full-time gig came on January 16, with many positive reactions from viewers as to how she faired in her first show.

Today Show viewers took to social media with comments such as, “love Karl and Sarah together,” and “knocked it out of the park.”

The new diversity on-screen also didn’t go unnoticed as one fan commented it was “great to see some cultural diversity.”

Sarah was born in Damascus, Syria but moved to Australia with her family when she was four years old.
