A Channel Seven network head confirmed a clash between Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage and network make-up artist Eliza Campagna but Sam dismisses the reports as “total rubbish”.
Samantha Armytage reportedly had her former close-friend and personal make-up artist of 18 months Eliza Campagna banned from the set of her morning breakfast show due to a bust-up between the pair.
Eliza, allegedly filed a complaint with HR about being unfairly ‘manhandled’ on the set of the show. The reports emerged via The Daily Telegraph and it seems they have been confirmed by the Seven Network’s new Director of TV Operations David Porter who has been in the role for less than two months.
David told the Telegraph that: “Eliza was about to walk into a live shot so Sam put her hand out to stop her. In live TV, this kind of thing happens all the time.”
It was also rumoured that after the clash, Samantha had Eliza banned from the studio floor anytime that she was on it.
Sam herself denied any such thing, saying “This is total rubbish.” In a two-line statement released yesterday via the Daily Telegraph.
Sam said: “This is I have a really long history with Eliza. We’ve been mates for many years and she’s in a league of her own.”
A before and after snap of Eliza’s make-up work on Sam – shared by both women to their Instagram accounts.
A spokesperson from the network has previously told the Daily Mail: “The information in the story is incorrect.”
“Like all employees across the network, Eliza is a valued member of our team.”
Up until recently Eliza, who was formerly a professional dancer who has worked on Dancing with the Stars, appeared to be quite close with Sam, continually posting snaps of her pal, and the makeup work she completed on her, to Instagram.
Four months ago Eliza shared a snap of Sam at the Melbourne Cup Carnival, captioned: “-always a pleasure looking after this stunning filly at the races @sam_armytage #Melbournecupcarnival”
